The first series of the BBC2 programme The Great British Throwdown has inspired the nation to have a go at making your own pottery. Come up to our studio and create your own masterpieces on the potter’s wheel or paint our pre-made ceramics. We also have pottery made by local potters on sale in our shop.

Pottery Painting

Pottery painting is at the heart of Potter Around. You can drop in to paint pottery at any time during our opening hours, where help is on hand with a great selection of ceramics and paints.

Being located in the country on a farm and on a popular dog walkers route, we are surrounded by animals and animal lovers. To celebrate your pets, we make clay paw imprints and we take commissions for oil and watercolour paintings of your pets. You may also wish to paint a cat or dog bowl or if you would prefer, we would be delighted to paint a piece for you.

Hand and foot prints

Babies are not babies for very long and at Potter Around we can immortalise your baby’s hand and foot prints either in paint on a piece of pottery or imprinted in clay to give you a moment in time to treasure always.
But prints aren’t just for babies. It’s great to make a present which incorporates your child’s prints and we have lots of ideas to help you create something very special and personal.

Potter’s Wheel/Clay

We have four wheels in a dedicated studio for the pottery. Potter Around offers a variety potter’s wheel and clay workshops, parties, corporate events and pottery experiences. Booking in advance is essential.

Pottery To Buy

Pottery made by our local artists is on sale in our shop. Pieces can also be commissioned for us to paint so please get in touch to find out more information.
