Babies are not babies for very long and every parent wants to treasure those precious moments. If only we could freeze time and enjoy them for longer. At Potter Around we can’t make time stand still literally, but we can give you a moment in time to treasure always.

Let us immortalise your baby’s hand and foot prints either in paint on a piece of pottery or imprinted  in clay. We go out of out way to make sure this is an experience that you and your child will enjoy.

But prints aren’t just for babies. It’s great to make a present which incorporates your child’s prints and we have lots of ideas to help you create something very personal.

We will also visit mothers and toddlers groups, playgroups, nurseries etc. and take prints for you. These can make great gifts but also offer fundraising opportunities especially around Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day, Graduation and Christmas.

A voucher for a set of prints is a lovely present to give to expectant parents.

Clay Prints

The clay prints can either be framed or left unframed and simply hung with ribbon.We will paint the prints in your choice of colours – and with over 100 underglaze colours to choose from, you can be sure to find something special for you.

At Potter Around we are committed to delivering quality items at affordable prices and wherever possible supporting charities. All of our framing is done by Poppy Factory Framing, the framing shop at the Lady Haig Poppy Factory in Edinburgh where all the proceeds  go to support disabled ex-Servicemen and women. The framers have been commended by the Fine Art Trade Guild, but as a charity their prices are substantially less. We believe this gives you an exceptional quality of frame in the colour and mount of your choice at a very competitive price. Each of the frames is made to fit your prints.

Another option is to put fingerprints onto clay cufflinks. These make adorable mementos and gifts. We can also take imprints onto silver clay – for this you have to book a couple of weeks ahead as we need to order in the silver clay.

It is also worthwhile calling to book ahead for clay imprints, so that we can have the clay ready for you.

Painting on Pottery

As long as the hand or foot fits, we can put prints onto any piece of pottery in the studio.We have photo frames, heart plaques, mugs, jugs, vases to name just a few things. And of course, we can put prints onto cuff-links too.  At Christmas we make Baubles or special plates with prints. Please call or email us if you would like more details.
